Lauren Tough's research experience

As industry operations manager for the Clinical Research Network in North East and Cumbria, I’m passionate about clinical research and supporting the life sciences industry and the NHS to effectively collaborate to the benefit of our local population and economy.

I am also the service development lead for national contract value review (NCVR), working to embed and develop NCVR to improve the efficiency of commercial trial budget negotiations in the UK.

Hyder Latif's research experience

I am the research operations manager for MedConnect North and have worked in clinical research over 10 years years, giving me a wealth of experience from NHS, academia and life sciences environments.

I studied business management at Teesside University and then worked in the cancer research team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and from there moved into the commercial research sector as a lead study coordinator at a research clinic before moving on to become a trial manager at a clinical trials unit.

After a year as a trial manager I moved to South Tees to become a project manager for MedConnect North for two years. In my role as project manager, I supported five MedTech studies, including BEST, Nebula and Rescue Study.
