The SRL Programme aims to empower nurses and midwives by unlocking their research potential and enabling them to play a crucial role in shaping and embedding a research active culture within their organisations and beyond. The programme provides funding for 2 days per week at an Agenda for Change Band 8b and the programme is open to all Nurses and Midwives in England who have experience in research leadership in health or social care at a local and/or regional level.

The fourth annual call for Doctoral Local Authority Fellowship (DLAF) applications has been launched.

The NIHR Doctoral Local Authority Fellowship (DLAF) scheme supports individuals based within Local Authorities, and supporting services, to undertake fully funded PhDs. These fully funded doctoral fellowships allow awardees to retain their existing employment contracts and salaries, whilst protecting their time to undertake a research doctorate, academic training, professional development and some appropriate continued practice. When taken full-time, fellowships have a duration of three years, but can be taken over as long as six years when taken part-time.
